I was once in a position where I didn’t think I was good enough to reach success as an Entrepreneur. I wanted to change that, I decided to read the 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth By John C Maxwell. One of the laws is The Law of the Mirror. In this chapter he discusses ways to overcome self esteem issues and they really worked for me here are a few.
1. Guard Your Self Talk
Don’t think or speak of yourself in a negative manner.
Instead of I can’t, I won’t or I suck
Say I can, I will and I am Great
2. Add Value to others
A great way to build Self-esteem is to help others serving others makes you feel good about yourself.
3. Create Your Turn Around Statement
Create a statement that you can repeat when ever you start to have negative thoughts of yourself.
“I am Powerful, Confident and successful”
4. Always Make The Right Decision.
Even in tough situations never compromise your integrity always make good decisions. Making bad decisions that go against your integrity will result in you thinking poorly of yourself.
5. Practice Small Disciplines Daily
Find a small daily activity you can do in an area in your life.
6. Celebrate Small Victories
Rewarding yourself and celebrating small victories will help turn your low self-esteem around.
7. Take Responsibility For Your Life.
Stop Blaming outside factors for your lack of success and realize it starts with you.
Start implementing these steps and you will see a positive change in the way you think about yourself. You will notice when pursuing your dreams it will make all the difference.
